That distinction matters more than anything else in waterproofing. Here's why:
No Dollar Limit manufacturer warranties — the gold standard — are only available through certified applicators. NDL means if the system fails, the manufacturer covers the full cost of repair with no cap. A non-certified installer gets you a product-only warranty that covers materials but NOT the labor, NOT the consequential damage, and NOT the cost of tearing out a failed system to reinstall it correctly.
Our waterproofing crews are factory-trained by Sika, Tremco, and Soprema field reps. They know the prep requirements, application rates, cure times, and detailing standards that make or break a waterproofing installation. This isn't a roofing crew with a caulk gun — it's a dedicated waterproofing team.
When we encounter unusual substrate conditions, high-moisture readings, or design conflicts, we have direct access to manufacturer technical support. Sika, Tremco, and Soprema engineers will visit the job site to consult on system selection and application methods. That access comes with certification — not with a purchase order.

NDL stands for No Dollar Limit. If the system fails, the manufacturer covers the full repair cost with no cap. NDL warranties are only available through certified applicators like Ocean Group. A non-certified installer's warranty covers materials only — not labor, not consequential damage, and not the cost of tearing out and reinstalling a failed system correctly.
Roofing systems shed water on sloped or low-slope surfaces. Waterproofing systems create a barrier against hydrostatic pressure — the force of water pushing against a surface from the outside (foundation walls, below-grade structures) or from below (plaza decks, occupied space below grade). Waterproofing failures have far more severe consequences because of what's directly below.
Diagnosis first. We use infrared thermography, electronic leak detection, and water testing to locate the actual failure point — which is almost never directly above where water appears inside. Remedial options range from injection repair to partial or full membrane replacement. We use Soprema ALSAN RS PMMA for remedial work when minimizing downtime is critical — it cures in under an hour.
